Buying a home in Tuxedo can be a contrast in extremes. On one the hand, you’re buying into a central and mature area with luxurious homes.

On the other hand, there’s a good chance you’ll need to pay for updates on your new abode to bring it up to modern standards.

That’s not the case with 74 Dunbar Cres., said Scott Moore of Realty Executives Premiere.


“This home has been constantly updated by its original owners,” he said of the twostorey, 2,559 square-foot home, which was custom-built on 7.6-metre piles in 1983.

“Over the years, they spent a considerable amount of time (and money) to keep it current.

“As a result, there’s basically nothing that needs to be done to it. You can just move in and enjoy it.”

He added one of the home’s best selling points is its basement.

The kitchen is a great example, Moore said.

“It’s a space you can use to entertain in, or as an extension of the master suite, which is linked to it by a doorway tucked away neatly off to the side.”

That doorway takes you into a master bedroom as modern as they come.

It’s huge and has two large windows (with built-in entertainment unit between them), and comes with a huge walk-in closet and an ensuite.

“The ensuite is amazing, with a grey oval soaker tub, tile floor, grey tile backsplash and trim and beautiful, curved white vanity,” said Moore.

“The walk-in closet is 18 feet by five feet with all kinds of built-in storage, and the (grey berber) carpet in the bedroom and loft/media room is brand new.

“The two secondary bedrooms are oversized, too. One comes with an oval window, the other with a murphy bed perfect for visiting guests.”

Last but not least, is the backyard, a sprawling, private area that is essentially a park infused with a taste of the Mediterranean.

“As impressive as the home is inside, I’d say its backyard is even more impressive,” said Moore.
