MEET SCOTT

Without a doubt, real estate and sales are in my DNA.

My introduction to real estate happened as a boy growing up in Northern Ontario. My grandfather Reginald Moore owned and managed many small apartment buildings in North Bay, Ontario. I remember going to collect rents at the beginning of the month with my Papa, meeting the tenants, and proudly listening to his stories of acquiring these assets, fixing them up and providing a better quality of living for both his tenants and himself.

With my father Douglas Moore

My father Douglas Moore was also heavily involved in real estate; he started out as a REALTOR® in his early 20’s, and then quickly became a Broker. He ultimately found his niche in acquiring larger parcels of land and buildings, which lead to a 20-year career as an automotive dealer in Sudbury, Ontario, before he passed away in 2001.

Although my father wanted me to pursue another profession, there wasn’t a chance in the world I wouldn’t become involved in sales in some capacity.

I first started in automotive sales, and was quickly promoted to Sales Manager of a large dealer group in the Niagara area. I managed a team that won the “GM Optimum Used Car Dealership of Canada” award and then I was recruited to manage North York Chevrolet, one of Canada’s largest automotive dealers.

After 14 months under my management, our team became the largest and most profitable GM Optimum dealership in Toronto and I was starting to think that sales was right for me…. just not car sales. I had a burning desire to try my hand in the real estate game. Go big, or go home!!!

After moving to Vancouver, BC and finishing my Real Estate Trading Services course at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, it was on! The market was so vibrant; Vancouver’s top REALTORS® were household names (almost like celebrities) and there was no stopping me!

I was lucky to have been mentored by Rick Stonehouse and his team of REALTORS® at The Stonehouse Group who were huge producers and who ran a dynamic and very tech-savvy team. I also honed my skills, going to various courses and workshops; I completed my RE law course, RE sales & marketing course, photography and staging, and attended many ethics and professional standards courses offered by the Vancouver Real Estate Board.

Never a dull moment.

Family First & The Move To Winnipeg

It was in BC that I met and married my wife, who was originally from Winnipeg. Later, we had our first son, and as our priorities switched from proximity to hip restaurants to proximity to extended family, we started to wonder if maybe there was life beyond Vancouver. We explored a few different places, one of which was my wife’s hometown of Winnipeg.

The more I investigated Winnipeg, the more I felt the need to pack up our family, and head east. I remember looking at realtor.ca, and feeling like a kid in a candy store! A 2000 Sqft home in a nice area for $350,000! Wow! That was double the square footage of our first home in Vancouver for less than half the price!

So in 2011, we made the move to Winnipeg. Since, we have settled into a beautiful home in Bridgwater, where we welcomed our second son in 2012, and our third son in 2014.

2015 Individual Gold Medallion winners.

Our move to Winnipeg turned out to be a great move both personally and professionally.

I began my practice in Manitoba at Realty Executives Premiere, and after a number of successful years, I moved my practice to RE/MAX in 2015. I was thrilled to earn the highest award for REALTORS® the Gold Medallion, as an individual in 2015 and again in 2016.

By 2016, my business had grown to the point where the demand exceeded my capacity as an individual, and The Moore Group was born.

Amanda Jones was my first partner in The Moore Group and she and I had a fantastic partnership until her move to Ontario in 2019.

The Moore Group

Since forming The Moore Group in 2016, we have brought together an absolute dream team of the most talented and driven agents in the business.

Together, we offer a superior level of 24/7 service that is unparalleled in Winnipeg. We use a cutting-edge tool for communication and collaboration that allows us to deliver a seamless client experience, and continue to always deliver the best. As a team we earned Team Gold Medallions in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

In 2021 & again in 2022, we were blown away to be honoured with the Pinnacle Club Team Award, which is the highest team award in the RE/MAX network.

Every one of us approaches business with a combination of modern technologies, breath-taking marketing, old-fashioned hard work, and expert negotiating to get our clients exactly what they want, and to treat them like gold while doing it.

Today, in addition to actively buying and selling homes, my role has evolved to include coaching, mentoring, and sales training, which I really enjoy. But the best part of The Moore Group for me is that I really enjoy working in partnership with my team. Not only does working as a team provide a more complete client experience, it’s really a lot more fun.

I welcome your business and your referrals and we promise to treat you like family.
