Located close to the perimeter, as well as Kenaston Boulevard on the west, and Pembina Highway to the east — these neighbourhoods are easily accessed from all directions. With the widening of Kenaston Blvd a top city infrastructure priority, the commute to downtown will only get smoother as the years go on.

The area is home to approximately 4600 people living in 2000 homes, approximately 79% of which are owned by the occupants. The average household income is nearly $110k, the average household consists of 3.1 people, and 48% of residents speak English only, 11% speak Punjabi, 7.6% Tagalog, 6.6% Chinese and more. [1]
Shopping & DiningThe closest option for all your shopping needs, is approx. 5 minutes north along Kenaston Boulevard in Bridgwater Centre! Featuring Save on Foods, RBC, MLCC, dental, medical, Shoppers Drug Mart and plenty of restaurants including Leopold’s Tavern, JC Sushi, Tim Hortons and more!
There are more options further north on Kenaston at Kenaston Commons Shopping Plaza, as well as along the south end of Pembina Highway!
Schools
Fort Richmond Collegiate
With 58% of households in Prairie Pointe & South Pointe having kids living at home, it’s a great thing there are so many schools offered in the area!
This neighbourhood is located in the Pembina Trails School Division, and the nearby schools are Ecole South Pointe School (K-8), Bairdmore School (K-6) and Acadia Junior High.
The High school in the area is Fort Richmond Collegiate on the east side of Pembina Highway. There are also a few Montessori and Preschool options!
Pembina Trails Collegiate is a brand new 117,000 sqft English high school that will be completed in September 2023 and will house 1000-1200 students in grades 9-12. It is located at Kenaston and Bison Drive.
Also under construction on the same site is Bison Run School a K-8 English school for 800 students from Bison Run, parts of Prairie Pointe, parts of South Pointe & Bridgwater Centre. Bison Run School is expected to be completed by January 2023. This is the first of four elementary schools planned for the area. It will be located next to 25 acres of land designated for the construction of a new recreation complex [5].
Community Life
Being extremely new areas in Winnipeg, with construction still ongoing, neither South Pointe or Prairie Pointe have their own community centres yet, however, they already offer plenty of beautiful parks and trails to keep the family busy.
Prairie Pointe and South Pointe are both included in the catchment area for the very active South Winnipeg Community Centre, which operates two thriving locations nearby— Richmond Kings Community Centre and St. Norbert Community Centre —both offering all kinds of sports and activities for the whole family.
As well, a new $90M community centre is currently proposed for Kenaston Blvd & Bison Dr [5].
Building a new home
Being one of the newest areas in the city, one of the reasons people are attracted to Prairie Pointe & South Pointe is to build their own home.

Bridgwater Forest
In the resale market, average cost for a typical 2000 sqft detached home with an attached garage is around $575k. There are also side-attached homes available offering approx. 1400 sqft and are generally priced around $350k. There is also a generous $1M+ market in the area, with gorgeous, custom built homes normally located on a lake, and offering a larger lot.
The condo market tends to be in the $250k-$350k range, with apartment-style and townhomes available — all of which would include services like snow removal and landscaping maintenance, offering a relaxed and simple lifestyle popular across all age groups.
