From Newfoundland to Winnipeg: Phil Gear's Story

Growing Up in Newfoundland
I was born and raised in Newfoundland, a place known for its strong sense of community and friendly people. Looking back, I credit my upbringing for making me a natural networker who enjoys building relationships, creating connections, and bringing people together.
Leadership, Service, and Relocation
Before entering real estate, I spent more than a decade working in managerial roles for one of the world's largest international oil and gas companies. During that time, I developed a strong work ethic rooted in transparency, efficiency, and complete dedication to every task I took on. Those experiences taught me how to navigate complex situations, solve problems, and always put people first.
Another significant part of my life has been my connection to the Canadian Armed Forces. I am a former member of the military and my wife continues to serve today. As a military family, we've experienced firsthand what it's like to relocate, adapt to new communities, and build a life in unfamiliar places.
Over the past ten years, our family has moved six times. While every move brought new opportunities, it also reinforced how important it is to find the right neighbourhood, support system, and sense of belonging. Those experiences have given me a unique understanding of the challenges and emotions that come with relocation.
Making the Leap into Real Estate
Real estate had always been on my radar. For more than a decade, I was interested in pursuing it as a career but the timing never seemed quite right. That changed when our family settled in Winnipeg.
Once we knew Winnipeg would be home for the foreseeable future, I decided it was time to pursue my goal. I immersed myself in the industry and earned my real estate licence within a matter of months.
Helping People Make Winnipeg Home
Today, one of my greatest passions is helping people relocate to Winnipeg. Whether they're moving across the province, across Canada, or across international borders, I understand the process because I've lived it. I know the questions people have, the challenges they face, and the importance of finding the right community to call home.

Life in Winnipeg
Outside of real estate, life revolves around my family. My wife and I are raising our two boys, Charlie and Isaac, along with our dog, Connor. We proudly call Bridgwater home and love the active lifestyle and strong sense of community that South Winnipeg offers.
